Trish Schreiber candidate for Montana HD 76

VOTE Trish Schreiber for Montana HD 76

Strong Schools. Healthy Families. A Vibrant Local Economy.

The Right Republican for HD 76.

Hi, I’m Trish, and I’m running to serve the people of House District 76. My husband, Matt, and I made our home in Helmville, with our four dogs, nearly a decade ago and have come to deeply appreciate the values, work ethic, and spirit of our rural communities.

As 2020 and 2021 unfolded, I watched Montana’s rural teachers go above and beyond for their students. They showed up, adapted, and made sure kids kept learning no matter the challenge. These teachers became my heroes as their courage and commitment reminded me how strong our communities are when we put people first.

For over 25 years, I worked in educational therapy, helping children and adults overcome learning challenges in reading and writing. My work has always been about helping people gain confidence, independence, and success through education.

It is my intention to serve the good people of HD76 by listening to the unique perspectives of parents, ranchers, teachers, business owners, and community leaders so that I can bring your voices to Helena. In order for representative government to work, we all must participate in the communication. I’m here to listen and serve.

For the last five years, I’ve helped bring high-quality instructional materials and training to Montana’s public school teachers, so they could use these impactful tools with confidence in their classrooms, elevating the teaching profession. I also worked alongside friends and mentors to help shape what became the Community Choice Schools Act—Montana’s true charter school law, because I believe Montana’s kids deserve every opportunity to succeed and educators should have every tool available to offer a true quality education.

I believe in an “all of the above” approach to education, whether it’s public, private, charter, or a customized home-based learning. Every child, every parent, and every teacher deserves the freedom to choose what works best for them.

Yes, I’m passionate about education, and I’ve spent the last two sessions in Helena supporting education state policy as a grassroots advocate. In this time, I have seen just how important it is to have leaders in office who truly listen to their constituents, who take the time to learn about the issues impacting their community, and who respectfully engage and respond with the voters back home.

There is so much work to do–from strengthening education to balancing our budget and returning the surplus to the taxpayers. But that’s the Montana way: we roll up our sleeves, work hard, and take care of our neighbors.

I’d be honored to earn your support and represent the people of House District 76. Please reach out to me, so we can talk about what issues are most important to you.

Lower Taxes, True Property Tax Relief

Montanans work hard, and they deserve a government that respects that. We need to lower taxes and return surplus revenue to the people who earned it. Real property tax reform should deliver lasting relief, protecting families, ranchers, and businesses without putting our schools or communities at risk.

Responsible Budgeting

Montanans live within their means, and our state government should do the same. We must balance the budget, end wasteful spending, and stop reckless growth in government. Fiscal discipline ensures stability today and a stronger Montana for the next generation.

RESTORING THE AMERICAN DREAM

Montana should always be a place where people can build a life, raise a family, and enjoy the land we love. But rising costs and limited opportunities threaten that promise. We need policies that make it possible for the kids of Montana to build their futures right here at home.

EDUCATION THAT WORKS FOR MONTANA

Strong schools start with strong local control. So, we need to return education to the districts. Parents, teachers, and communities—not Helena—should decide what works best for their students. We need to offer robust educational opportunities for everyone.

AGRICULTURAL GROWTH AND SUPPORT

Agriculture is the backbone of House District 76’s economy and Montana’s way of life. We must support our farmers and ranchers by reducing unnecessary regulations and empowering local innovation. When agriculture thrives, our communities thrive.

PROTECTING SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS

The right to keep and bear arms is fundamental to our freedom and our way of life. I will always defend the Second Amendment and stand against any effort to weaken it. The Constitution could not be clearer.
