Trish Schreiber candidate for Montana HD 76

VOTE Trish Schreiber for Montana HD 76

Strong Schools. Healthy Families. A Vibrant Local Economy.

The Right Republican for HD 76.

Hello, I’m Trish, and I’m running for HD76. My husband, Matt, and I live in Helmville with our four dogs. While we weren’t fortunate enough to be born in Montana, we moved to rural Montana in 2017 with the intention of living a quiet life, but something awakened in me during COVID, and it became abundantly clear that there was work to be done.

As 2020 and 2021 unfolded, Montana’s rural teachers became my heroes—they refused to fully comply with arbitrary closures and showed up anyway, knowing children needed them, especially those requiring special services. Inspired by their dedication, I began considering what I could offer to contribute to the education of Montana’s children.

For the 25 years before moving to Helmville, I owned a private educational therapy practice, specializing in assessment, remediation, and consulting. I helped parents identify their children’s learning disabilities and provided reading and writing instruction to students of all ages, including adults.

Helping and serving others has brought true meaning and purpose to my work. My work lifts others up, so they can confidently stand on their own and thrive in their own pursuits.

It is my intention to serve the good people of HD76 by listening to the unique voices of parents, ranchers, teachers, business owners, and community leaders so that I can bring your voices to Helena. In order for representative government to work, everyone must participate in the communication. I’m here to listen and serve.

For the last five years, I actively engaged in managing a grant that brought high-quality instructional materials and professional development to public school teachers, so they could use these impactful tools with confidence with their students. I also worked with a small group of friends and some mentors to conceptualize bringing high quality K-12 classical education schools to Montana—this turned into us editing an existing charter school bill that turned into the Community Choice Schools Act, Montana’s true charter school law. Above all, I believe we need a strong “all of the above” system that supports all of our kids, parents, and teachers whether that be through our public schools, private schools, Choice Schools, or a customized home-based education.

I’ve been incredibly lucky to meet hundreds of people across the state who also want to improve Montana’s education landscape by expanding school choice policies for parents, diversifying educational options for students, and elevating the teaching profession for educators—all to ensure we’re helping every Montana student succeed!

Yes, I’m passionate about education, and I’ve spent the last two sessions in Helena supporting education state policy as a grassroots advocate. In this time, I have seen just how important it is to have leaders in office that truly listen to their constituents, take the time to learn about the issues impacting their community, and respectfully engage and respond with the voters back home.

There is so much work to do—spanning from education policy to crafting a balanced budget and returning the surplus to taxpayers.

I hope you will join me and support our campaign as I work tirelessly to listen and represent you as the next Representative from HD 76.

Lower Taxes, True Property Tax Relief

We need to lower taxes and return surplus revenue back to the taxpayers. We need to deliver real property tax reform that provides lasting relief and doesn’t harm our workers, families, ranchers, businesses, or schools.

Budget

It’s simple: Balance the budget. Live within our means. End reckless and wasteful government spending. And no raising taxes!

Restore the American Dream

We need to ensure Montana can still be a place to live, work, raise a family, and enjoy the outdoors. The biggest threat to Montana’s future is that our kids will be forced to raise their families elsewhere.

Education

We need to support our students, parents, teachers, and schools. We need to offer robust educational opportunities for everyone. We need to work together to return education to the districts. When Helena dictates how the funds must be spent, there is no local control.

Agricultural Growth and Support

Agriculture is the foundation of HD76’s economy, and we need to fully support our ranchers and farmers. I will always be a strong advocate for reducing regulations that create barriers for innovation and sustainability at the local level.

2nd Amendment Rights

We must never restrict our right to keep and bear arms. The Constitution could not be clearer!
